About Plume & Katherine

Plume Jewelry and its logo were both inspired by the Greek Goddess Hera because her symbol was the peacock, and she was the protector of women and children. Plume often serves in or contributes to philanthropic endeavors striving to benefit women and children.
Katherine Currier is the designer and artist behind Plume Jewelry. From recognition as an award winning metalsmith artist in high school, to working in a bone carving village in Bali designing pendants in fossilized walrus tusk, mammoth skull, and deer antler, and finally designing her own embellished accessories for the Miss America pageant, it is safe to say she’s worked with a vast array of mediums and conceptualized a plethora of styles. She has been creating jewelry pieces since the age of sixteen, and while her creative direction has changed over the years, her concept of “Wearable Art” has not. She believes that just as we accessorize the walls of our home with unique art to reflect ourselves, we can also accessorize our wardrobes to create a strong sense of individuality. All of her necklaces are one-of-a-kind, and her earrings are one-of-a-kind or limited reproduction. In a consumer-driven culture where costume jewelry and fine jewelry abound, it is nice to have a piece that you know no one else in the world owns.
Many of the necklaces are designed as asymmetrical pieces which may be worn in multiple ways. Once you’ve chosen your outfit, you can play with how you want to wear the piece. The clasps are designed to blend in or serve as a focal point. She aims to please a vast number of consumers by offering a wide array of styles; however, her medium often includes a touch of whimsy. Please visit the Plume Jewelry “Custom” tab to have a one-of-a-kind piece designed specifically for you, for a gift, or for an event.
